993 sports exhaust advice
Discussion
If you want to get rid of the cats then by pass pipes are the way forward, you could change the mufflers too.

Think their UK dealer is www.design911.co.uk
Sport filters such as K+N can be found somewhere like www.9mracing.co.uk though there have been huge arguments on here regards the filtration efficiency and engine longevity offered by aftermarket filters. Might the OEM sport airbox be a better bet?
Hope that helps.

If you want a really lairy loud exhaust, I've got some Fabspeed Supercup pipes for sale - previously fitted to my non vario 993.
Details in the classifieds...
As far as power increases go, I don't think any 993 exhausts make any real difference. However the original exhausts are *very* heavy - the Supercups in particular are significantly lighter, which is always good...

I have a c2 1995 non varioram, anybody recomend agood stainless system,i wouldnt mind getting rid of the cats if its poss. What sort of price.also thinking of getting a sports air filter, any advice appreciated.
It all depends if you are after outright performance gains or not, as it all comes at a price!
If your car is a daily driver or you intend to do track work be careful with the associated increments in noise. Remember the cats when it comes to MOT time.
Also quite a few people find that they cant live with the replacement systems after a while and you can pick up good (sometimes hardly used) stuff second hand.
IMHO the RSR silencers with Porsches own Motorsound pack is the business!
I'm with David here. I have RSRs and the motorsound air box on my C4 and it sounds really good. Rennlist has seen a lot of debate on this and the shared wisdom there is RSRs or Fabspeeds if you want something louder + Motorsound box. Porsche spent a lot of money developing their intake system so the advice I have seen is to keep the standard filter. Some people have even reported a drop in power when fitting a K&N filter or a cone jobby.

David

Agree with most of the above.....I was told by a technician that the K&N style filters do more harm than good. Try just drilling some 1/2" holes ( about 9 of them) on the top right corner of the airbox. This improves the sound without FG up the engine. It then resembles an OEM sports filter. Also heard that the RSRs MIGHT cause a BHP drop!Have fun...
No, because thankfully the noise test means static revs and the airbox isn't too loud then. Gets much louder on WOT though.
RSR's really not that loud when you consider all the mechanical noise back there anyway, which is always a problem on noise tests i find.
Any other experiences?
