Apart from the over exposure, it's a really stty and weak advertsing device to give a car animal or human traits.

Last one was a (very) quick one-trick pony?

It's 50k. For a hatchback. I can't understand how anyone would buy one with real money. They'd have to be a dedicated VAG fan.

You could buy a 4C Alfa for that, which is a much better car.
Or even an F Type. Both brand new.

I can see it going the same way the mental quick Evo's did. Sell comically low numbers, quietly drop it 18 months down the line.

Don't think many people would walk in and drop £50K on one of these. They will happy buy into the dream on the never-never though. Enthusiasts will wait for 7-8 years when they're worth £6500

There will be some people who want the "ultimate A3" and buy one. As a new car, it's mental, as a used car, it makes sense smile

Walk around London central in 1 year's time. Some people just buy cars because they want the most expensive model in that class.

Logic defies some of those swimming in cash.

However I have no problem with that. The fact people buy these cars keeps them alive. Variety is the fruit of life

I have 1 parking space, the ability to go quickly and still manage to fit things like a 240 litre fish tank in the boot (though not at the same time) really appeal to me. Combined with a relatively small package living in the city and it's a winner for me.

Suspect I'm a bit of a niche market though.

Steve Sutcliffe summed it up rather well on the AE video, "It's just understeering, a lot. That's not great....Then again, now, I've got understeer. I do not want that....It's still a little bit wooden".

Just yesterday, we had another thread about how modern cars are getting too large for parking spaces.

Today we have the posts about why would anyone buy a fast, premium, small, practical car. For me this is exactly the type of car the market needs more of and the type of car I'm going to get next. It's practical enough to be the every day car. Will easily fit in any multi storey or council car park. Is big enough for day-to-day family needs. Fast enough to be fun. Put a roof box on it for the once a year holiday in Cornwall, the lakes, France etc...

I think the point of the thread might have been that it's being heavily advertised on PH. There's never less than 4 links to it on the bottom of any page I look at.

50k is for one with ceramics, which neither the 4C or the F-Type have as standard.

So it's a 40k hatch then, and you'll probably say that's still a lot for a hatchback. But I bet if they make another TTRS with that engine, it'll be absolutely fine, because it'll be less practical and somehow that makes more sense.
