Thought I would try out the Go Pro for the first time on the Griff. Purchased a suction cup to mount it on the side of the Griff and gave it a little try. Quite tame as I wasn't sure if the damn thing would drop off even though Go Pro state that the suction cup has been tested up to 150mph with camera. But it didn't budge even though driving over some pretty bumpy roads!

Well the clue is in the title. Trying out the Go Pro and its software includes trimming/cutting, editing, adding titles and soundtracks, part of the learning curve. I appreciate not everyone likes Bruce Springsteen but I do as he is from my era. Point taken about adding a sound track alongside the V8 wink. Thanks Stlol for your comment. Cheers.

Nice video JT, not bad for a first attempt. Haven't seen you about in the 'Bay', I'll keep an eye out for you.

£40 SJ4000 (Go Pro rip off), with plenty of V8 noise. Original quality was actually better but some was lost when uploaded to YouTube.

If anyone is thinking of buying a go pro I have brought a rip off one £23 works ok quality good but only works half way through the memory card some sort of glitch !! So you get what you pay for
HOWEVER after some research I have found a very competitive alternative it's called a rollie and uses the same mounts as a go pro and is very similar the best bit is the one I have is HD it comes with wifi has a wrist band that you can operate the camera with start stop film or photo you can also link it with your phone if you want to use it with a drone ! £75.00 good value , I will try and get the link if anyone is interested

Anything but GoPro is usually tosh. It's expensive, but GoPro is the only way to go! You get what you pay for.

Here's one of my first suction cup videos, on my friends Minisprite 1275, pretty epic.

With regards to the comments about the cost of the Go Pro and other camera's I didn't look at any alternatives. I must say that I am impressed with the video quality and stabilisation of the films even over very rough roads. I used an external mic with a 'dead cat' cover to help reduce the wind noise.

Been out again, got the bug now driving fantastic coast road and it was sooooo quiet (except me)

With soundtrack

Without soundtrack (just the V8 singing)

Not really though is it...

Poor battery life compared to rivals.
Poor battery design + they change the battery design every update (which is total garbage if like me you had ten or so)
Really bad microphones, probably the worst of any camera system.
Poor WiFi connectivity.
No stabilisation
The "GoPro Rattle" due to badly designed cases.

I've been thinking of buying the Drift Ghost-S. Anyone here have experience of them, good or bad?
