Hello fellow Caterham owners / racers

Could any one offer any advice about race tyres....with the demise of the CR500 and the replacement the ZZs, can any one offer any advice for a suitable direct alternative from another tyre supplier...I'm getting quotes north of 400.00 a set for the Avons, but is their any more cost effective.

Cheers

I would personally stick with Avon having tried quite a few others in the past. Avon ZZR's are the one to have in the dry in my view, I know others who have used the ZZS in damp/dry conditions and highly rated it. Avon CR28's do a good job if its really wet. I currently run with ZZR's and CR28's in Mag 7's.

You could try the Kumho V70. The softer compound for track, and the harder for road use. Grip wise, they're every bit as good if not better than the Avons, but like most 1b tyres, they need care in the wet.

II was very impressed with ZZRs on track, my new car has kumhos which do look like they would clear water better
