Given I'm ste at remembering directions, and haven't got a thingy to attach a sat nav to my bike I thought I'd try listening to a nav app I've got for my phone, which seems to work but the earphones are bloody uncomfortable once squashed in under my helmet. Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers

I did 300 miles with a tom tom suckered (standard sucker) on the inside of the screen, usb power via an anker power brick in my pocket. It looked a bit dicey over some poor road surfaces but stuck like a champ!

I use tomtom on my iphone, in a small oxford tank bag with clear screen. I charge it using like other poster, a anker usb charger. I am a fair weather biker, so unable to comment re getting wet.

Re. headphones, i do not have an answer i am afraid.

I use my phone as navigation, but my helmet has cut outs for ear pieces in. I think all Shark helmets do. google maps works great as navigation, just got a waterproof holder for my samsung phone...sorted

£30 bluetooth headset (I've used one for 5000+ miles and for £30 it's great - a little basic but does the job) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BT-Interphone-800M-Motor...

Or a set of shure se215 earphones, their design means they sit flat in your ear.

Google maps on your phone, phone in your pocket, and you get a lovely lady barking orders at you biggrin

Shure is the only way to go if you want to avoid that feeling of ripping your ears off.

Nice one, cheers all. Think I might need a new lid too as I've just discovered trying to go to Tooting from Colchester, you can't actually here a bloody thing. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get lost half a dozen times trying to pinpoint my exact destination!

These are very comfortable and also isolate outside noise very well. Also the over-the-ear design means they won't get pulled out.

I just bought some customer ear plugs which are due to arrive shortly. They had ones with earphones built in which I'd assume would be the best thing you could get.
