My Meta alarm started malfunctioning about 6 weeks ago (Sod's Law, just before I was due to do a Rally) and, after talking to Carl, I decided not to drive it given the alarm is linked to the immobiliser. I spoke to Carl on a few occasions and we decided in the end that the best fix was to go for a complete new alarm and immobiliser. As the alarm defect could have affected the immobiliser, leaving me stranded, we decided that Carl would equip himself with everything he needed to do the job and come to me. OK, we both live in France but it was still a 6 hour drive, which became 8.5 hours due to the madness that is the whole of France going on holiday on the same day! Nevertheless, on arrival Carl started the job, working into the evening and starting again at 6 this morning (with a relaxing bbq and interesting chat in between) and finishing at about 2.30 this afternoon. He's now on his way home, and hopefully it will be closer to the 6 hour drive it was supposed to be.

It wasn't cheap, but Carl's attention to detail and meticulous work method leaves me feeling that it was money well spent, especially as he also checked various circuits and wiring and provided.... remote boot opening, which I hadn't anticipated.

Top man!

I agree.
He replaced the META alarm and immobilizer earlier this year, along with fitting a remote boot release, plus resolved a 'nasty' at the same time - a previous owner had decided to crop a permanently live wiring mod but leave it loose and not insulated. Just perfect for a short-circuit to occur at just the wrong time.

He has great attention to detail.

Highly recommended.
