Hi guys,

I’m planning on spending Wednesday evening to Sunday in Wales this weekend, sole purpose is to drive some great roads, enjoy some scenery – eat well and do a spot of hiking in the Brecon Beacons and then Snodonia. I’m travelling from London.

I’m actually a Welshie – born in Cardiff, but after 6 months of age my folks decided to move to Kent, so I’ve grown up on the other side of the UK. I’ve visited wales a few times since, but not spent any time travelling around.

If any of you have any tips of good roads (I can start in the North on Thurs and go down to the South, need to be back in London by Sunday), places to eat – cheap B&Bs or things to see/do, then I’d be grateful to hear it! I’ve got a rough plan of what I want to do, but any specifics would be good to add to the list.

I’m going to be taking a GT3, so whilst I’m ok with the driving part – some parking in the B&Bs would be good, any recommendations?

Cheers

I can highly recommend the Ancient Briton in Abercrave.......& not too far from the fab A4059 Penderyn to Pen Y Fan road. Run by a good friend, a number of our European customers have very much enjoyed a stay there.

If you come South, visit the Vale of Glamorgan.

Nice food and rooms to stay in with off road parking in The Fox and Hounds, Llancarfan.

There are some nice roads, traffic permitting, from there to Ogmore-by-Sea.

Plough and Harrow, Monknash and The Star Inn, Treoes (pronounced Trose) do very nice food.
