Hi,
Having owed my Lotus Esprit S4s for 4 years I'm getting the itch to replace it & the TVR Tuscan is on my list. The question is what are the prices of Tuscans doing ? Are they still going down, bottomed out or on the way up ? I know it shouldn't be a major factor in buying a car but this for me would be a sunny weekend car so it's easier to justify having £20k + tied up if I'm not going to loose a fortune in depreciation like a more modern car.
I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Cheers.

so roll me further bitch

I would be surpised it the prices come down now , i reckon you could get a nice well sorted mk 1 tuscan for 18 - 20k. Mine has risen in value in the 3 years i have owned it, but i did buy when they seemed to be far cheaper

In my opinion they bottomed out 2/3 years ago and are on the rise slowly. I think the days of a car with the major items well sorted being available sub £20k are now virtually gone.

I agree, I think something can be had under £20k right now, but not for long I wouldn't say.

I think TVR coming back will help values as the spare parts scene seems re-invorgated and the new models if they are as good as I hope with GMD and Cosworth on board will pull values of the Wheeler Era cars up.

Definitely on the rise. When I was looking earlier in the year I couldn't find one in the condition I wanted for under £20K. If anything they have gone up a bit more since then too.

If you want a minted one your looking at 30k upwards for a mk1 with very low miles and everything done

I bought a mk1 about 18 months ago. I'd been considering one for a couple of years before that and wish I'd taken the plunge earlier, prices went up a few k in the time I spent thinking about buying one - depreciation is definitely not an issue.

That said, I probably saved an equivalent amount in running costs over the intervening time...

Overall A+++ WOULD BUY AGAIN

In 2009, having just written off my mk1 Tuscan my Wife searched and found two Tuscan convertibles, a 2005 and a 2006, both for sale at £24k.
I wish I had bought them both.
