I got my windows done yesterday. I'm quite fussy , I want to say that from the off, and I have had a few cars tinted in the past which I've been very happy with , so I can make some comparison, however this one is a bit of a let down. Basically every window is a riot.
Now reading up on the internet it would seem I need to let the windows cure to the glass over the next 7-10 days , and a lot of 'imperfections' should disappear, but I think it would take something short of a miracle for mine.

Spent an hour at home going over all the edges as they were coming away from the glass
Can hardly see out the rear window at night , for some reason headlights are glaring and duplicating like a laddered effect due to the heated screen element , never had that on my other cars
If it hasn't improved in 7 days I'm going to peel it off its that bad
I might be jumping the gun and it might settle and get better so will update later .

Well 6 days later the blemished didn't improve. Installer has offered to do them again but Im of the opinion if you cant do it right first time , it could be worse second time. The winters not far away and it will be dark most of the time , by the time the light nights are back I will be due to change the car anyway.

I think you are most definitely jumping the gun! If it was so much of a 'riot' why did you take it home in the first place? From the little I actually know about window tinting, the few mm from the edge is normally the dot matrix - this is installed by the factory to ensure aftermarket tints would not look as good as factory tints. It's hardly the installers fault if you can't see out the back window lol.... I dislike seeing businesses being rubbished & I think it's very unfair of you to come on here and rubbish them on a popular forum especially when you say they've offered to fix it (I assume free of charge).. A lot of the window tinters near me have a lengthy warranty and I don't see why your guy should be any different. A warranty is there for a reason you know! If there's a problem then you take it back, simple. Allow me to clarify on your misinformed comments - Ive had windows tinted before on 4 cars previously which did have some blemishes , which do go away, and ended up perfect. As with most things you don't see every imperfection at the time and I wasn't going to stand for hours covering every square inch before I took the car away. The dot matrix is usually around the back window - Im talking about the windows on the back doors which on a CLS are frameless . I can see out the back window however there is glare and laddered effect which I haven't suffered on any previous window tints. Ive rubbished the workmanship but as yet haven't named the company so I fail to see why I have rubbished the business ?? I hope you get something sorted.
Each to their own but when I receive bad workmanship it leaves a sour taste and Im reluctant to give them a second crack at it. Do it right first time if you are that good. I can only assume you have done some detective work, worked out the installer \ company in question and have some form of connection with them ??

You're now thinking in to this far too deeply. I really don't have a clue who you've went to, however I'm guessing they're nowhere near Edinburgh considering you're in Lanarkshire. It doesn't really matter if you've not mentioned the name of the company online - I'm sure there will still be word of mouth I hope you get something sorted.

just out of interest how much did you pay, ballpark? JenMX5 your comments are a bit, well random, no company names been mentioned and its reasonable feedback for people considering tinting which brought me here!
Strath44 , I paid £130 for the rear window and the windows on both rear doors, 18% tint.
The last car I got tinted was an 05 Merc C class , and I paid a lot more for the same 5 years ago. - I should have known that at £130 you only get what you pay for. In hindsight I wish Id went back to the guy who done my C class and paid the extra - I know it would have been done to perfection.
