A bit of information that may be useful.

My 2008 VXR8 (I've had from 2009) wasn't cooling very well in the recent warm weather so I had the air con recahrged (£30) and now freeezing when demanded.

Regards,

Steve

If you've got a leak it won't last, but I think they're obliged to do a pressure test before filling. Do you have fluorescent dye in the charge?

Its also beneficial to use it year round, cooling in the summer and demisting in the winter. Use keeps the seals lubricated within the system which stops leaks starting.

^^^^^This. I use mine all the time, never switch it off. Only problem I ever had in the Beemer was when I left it standing for months on end and the seals dried out. Got it refilled and was good to go again.

True, but I like being able to turn the AC off to drop the idle to a lumpier rpm hehe

True, but if it lasts another 7 years before needing a refill I will be okay with that.

It's like fishing in a bucket! wink

Better leaving AC on and fitting a nice cam IMHO, best of both worlds.

BTW Big G, when's yr big beast going to be on the road, it's been.... Years now!

Out of interest, where did you go to get it done for £30. Seems a good price to me.

Regards.

Its on the road. Its just not driveable at the moment. Smaller cam required.
Plus I have to change some leaky Katech carbon rocker covers as well.
