And it's a tarmac drive. Car leaked about half a pint when I messed up an oil change. Any suggestions how to get it off? Local car shop are insistent that Gunk and Jizer will eat through the tarmac, so what to use please.

TIA

Nothing. Any solvent will break down the oils in the Tarmac and soften it.

Washing powder and a stiff brush worked for me.

+1, don't get any solvent on it - something to dry it out, it will then weather back to the correct colour quick enough.

I had an oil leak a month or two ago and I chucked some Ice Melt gritty stuff to soak it up as it's all I had. It's now pretty much gone amazingly. So chuck some sand or whatever you have to hand on it, should lessen the stain.
