Early TVR Chimaera help??
Discussion
I have an early 1993 chim and I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the car, It was first registered on the first of April 93 and has some bits on it I that seem different to others ive seen, can anyone help me out a little on the car. It has a pleated interior and steel dashboard not a checkered one just plain steel, which im struggling to see others that have the same and all to my knowledge is original, I have no receipts to say its ever been changed . Black door buttons that are key operated and not electrical and the twisty door knob is set in the same area as the gear stick and not in its own hub behind it. It has no expansion tank next to the rad just a large swirl pot. Does anyone know if this is just typical for an early model? If so does anyone know a good place to source interior parts for it?

Hi
I had a very early '93 chim. It was number 19 if the chassis number is to be believed. It had the same door buttons as you but still had a wooden dash. I am sure yours will be an aftermarket but I stand to be corrected. My door openers were a horizontal lever between the gear lever and the dash. Mine also just had a swirl pot not an expansion tank.
K891NMB if anyone on here has it now?

I have an early one too. It is pre-serp. that is it has a thin "fan" belt around the alternator, water pump, etc.. One large swirl pot, exhaust at the join of the "Y" piece are attached with bolts, lots of them. eemm what else...... The locks as mentioned above, with a key and mechanicaly push down to release the door. the gear box LT77?, reverse is left and forward, and not right and back as in the later cars.
Hope that helps.
