Hi,

Looking to buy a 2008-2010 Impreza WRX hatchback and there seems to be a 226bhp and 265bhp model, both in the WRX, is that right and how do i tell the difference? Can't seem to find the info anywhere.
Seen a nice 2010 model but he thinks it is 240bhp?

Cheers

I have a WRX and find it more than enough , easy enough to find the extra if you want to

Do what I did, find the right car , I spent 2 months until I found a 1 owner completely unmolested car

I've never felt the need to mess with it

Buy a nice clean wrx and pop a prodrive performance pack on it. 265bhp and much more liveable and discreet than an STi. Or find a nice wrx-s which had the remap fitted at birth plus a few other add ons (wheels etc).

My understanding of the WRX hatch (which could be wrong) is that the original had 227bhp and for MY 2009 this was upgraded to 265 bhp. In 2010 most were also given a free PPP upgrade and a few other bits. Mine is this car. It has PPP and is white pearl with black Prodrive wheels. Looks quite different to the standard hatch. Very similar looking to the WRX-S except that the latter has an STI-style rear spoiler. Not had mine on a dyno yet but the previous owner claims it is just under 300bhp. My guess is that it's somewhere between the 265 and 300 mark. Quick enough whatever.
