this is what Evo and Pistonheads is all about. Marvellous stuff.
well done Simon and I love hearing about these things actually being used as opposed to all the price speculation which is going on across the forum of 599gtos at 700k ... doubled in a year... and never driven again... totally stupid stuff.

Long time no see Simon. You're probably aware I wrote off the GT a while back, so know that gutted feeling when you damage your pride and joy. You may not know that I am now in an early Murci, and whilst it's very different to the GT, I'm actually quite enjoying it. Glad to see SG54 is still out there and about to make a comeback.

Hello Simon,

Great story; I had not heard about your car until now. Glad to see you are getting it back on the road and it shows these cars are not as fragile as people say. 300k that must be around £75k in fuel, but who's counting?

Regards

John

Pretty sure it was you, and if not an identical car in Arnage in 2005 (or might have been 04). Parked up and a group of us were standing behind it watching the usual shenanigans when you returned and started her up. Epic noise.

Followed the write ups ever since. Well done for using a car as intended. Makes my 55k Tuscan and 105k 996TT look positively amateurish!

Wowsers. Computer controller jigs !? Who knew. I thought they were all tugged by grumbly old panel beaters. Great work fella. We were all inspired by this particular car.

Congratulations to keeping this thing going. Its beyond remarkable how impressive it is. I've seen the car a couple of times back in the day when I was at uni in Leeds, and then at Vmax. Now living in America so don't think there will be a great chance of seeing it again in person but still amazing to see pictures of it still going and being put back to its original glory!

All the best.

I read every EVO from the very first issue until about 18 months ago - so I feel I know this car well - I even saw it in the flesh maybe about 9 years ago as it was travelling somewhere above Huddersfield heading towards Holmfirth - I tried to keep up in my Mk1 Eunos but didn't have much chance! smile

I also think I saw your DBS heading towards Manchester through Stalybridge near where I live - I assume you are based in West Yorkshire?

I might even check out EVO again this month.

P.S. Has Lambo Manchester moved? - I work in Stockport and was told today it had gone - that's how I found this thread.

Yep, they've moved to St Mary's Way, still in Stockport. Quite close by to where they used to be.

So it lives !

I was holding court in Gaucho in South Ken last night, and SG54 went flying down Sloane Ave and into Ixworth Place !

That's rather worrying since it was in Lamborghini Manchester just waiting for a windscreen fitting earlier today!
Its Yorkshire based smile

And once again - all the kind comments are much appreciated thanks.
Its been a massive team effort getting it back from almost being almost obliterated.

There was a Murci parked opposite the Anglesea Arms on Tue night, might have been that one.
Can't remember if it was Arancio or Giallo though, the shame!

Crikey, it was an Arancio and black Murci plate beginning with S... I was several whiskey sours (from Eclipse) and a large steak down at this point, so I misread it and jumped to the wrong conclusion....

Sorry mates !

I did definitely see SG54 at Owens in School Road in 2007 during the black stripe phase when mine was in for stuff....

It wasn't this one then. There was some tasty stuff out on Tuesday, a stunning matt white SLR 722 on Saudi plates, a few locals tooling around in old Astons and a solid red Aventador that lives just over Chelsea bridge.

Haven't been to the Anglesea Arms in years.. must fix that :-)

What happened to the customer driving the car, financially? Thank God he wasn't injured, but I'm wondering how these events are insured?
