Has anyone fitted a SSK to their M3?

I'm a fan of the concept and they are a must rather than a mod in a Porsche, but not sure about the M3, anyone done this, with good or bad results?

Thanks

Hi,

I've got a UUC EVO 3 short shift kit with the DSSR and I'm very happy with it...shifts are shorter and crisper.

My car's going to be on the M3 Cutters stand at the BMW show at Gaydon this Sunday if you want to see what it feels like...

Cheers

Jack, that's a very kind offer, did you fit it or have it fitted, I'm assuming car needs to be on a ramp to enable the install, exhaust out etc.

What's the improvement like, does it give the desired rife like bolt action shifts?

I had it fitted at Birds. I think it needs to be up on a ramp.

The action is definitely a lot better and less rubbery...

Any suggestion where I can purchase the shifter and the DSSR combined.

I've had a quote which I thought was quite high, so any recommendation would be welcome?

Well, I bought mine directly from UUC in the States. When carriage, VAT and duty are added it's not cheap. I have paired it with a Delrin shift knob.

I was out all day today driving from Sheffield to London via Derby, so using a good mix of roads, and I paid attention to the shift action in the light of this thread. I can honestly say it's fantastic (very 'snickety' if that's a word). Very tactile indeed.

In my opinion the short shift kit was worth every penny.

Thanks Jack,

I'm need to bite the bullet and just stump up the money, I fitted an F10 M5 gear knob yesterday, there's a marginal improvement say 15% better maximum.

Best UK price is £400.00 including delivery, how does that compare with the cost of buying direct from the USA?
