Just bought a Merc SLK and need to get some stone chips sorted.
Any recommendations for good guys near Norwich?

I use http://www.carmedicnorfolk.co.uk/

My brother-in-law used to run Car Medic along with this guy for the Norfolk area, he now does soemthing else and this guy has carried on. He's repaired my wife's X5 3 times and a couple of my cars.
The guys name is Marcus and he's a good guy.

Let Marcus know you were recommended by Geoff in Brundall (RS4 & X5) and he'll look after you, not that he wouldn't anyway.

The last job I had him do was get 4 x 21" X5 wheels refurbished and the work was stunning.

We have teamed up with ChipEx to provide a team of approved repairers for just this type of thing.

I have taken the liberty of doing a search based on Norwich and our nearest Approved Repairer is James at JR Detailing.

Here is a link to the search results - http://repairers.chipex.co.uk/?locations=0&s=n...

The parents are very happy with some work PHer Kidders just did on their old Merc.
Based just off the Norwich ring road, North of the city.
He's well priced, too.

I concur with Darren. Kidders has done work on a few of my cars and have had a great result.

Where is everyone?
Left a message on CarMedics answerphone - no response.
Drove up to Kidmans yesterday afternoon to find it all locked up.
Sent them an email but no response...

Too busy, gone bust or on holidays?

Kidders was at Snetterton yesterday afternoon/evening, normally pretty quick at replying to emails though. Can't speak for the others.

Always busy! Yes I was at Snetterton yesterday , the lads were out delivering cars around the time you popped in so must have missed them. Give me a call on 07539 232320 and I'll take a look .

I'm guessing this is a fairly recent thread? I have a BMW E60 in carbon black and the bonnet was repainted due to stone chips, but the finish is so 'orange peely' It looks as though it hasn't be flatted. I don't know if the clear coat is thick enough to try with so need a good bodyshop to sort this if anyone can rough quote me please? As i know without seeing it, it's impossible to say!

Generally speaking refinish paintwork tends to have more depth of clear than OEM and can usually be flatted to refine the finish and remove texture and peel. We had to do this recently to an Audi S4 and had excellent results.

I haven't measured it with a PDG but know what you're saying. Always after a good bodyshop so will check out your details as I have several cars and like to keep them tidy as I'm a detailer in my spare time.
