Mirror mounting?
Discussion
I've been working on the mirrors today. Removed the motors, masked and painted the housings, etc. When I started to examine the wiring situation, I realized that all was not quite right. The upper ends of the wires (connecting to the mirror motors) require three tiny female spade connectors per side. I received 16 in a baggie with my kit. The lower ends of the wires (connecting to the main loom) require three ¼" male spade connectors per side. Number supplied by Ultima? Zero. Good thing I've got an assortment already.
Anyway…
The question of the day: How do the oval aluminum plates attach to each motor? I see the four ears on the motors for tiny screws (not supplied), but unless one goes countersunk there, the mirrors won't sit properly. So, how do those plates attach?
I'm assuming that the mirrors themselves velcro to the aluminum plates…

Just to close the loop on this one:
Turns out that the aluminum plates are stuck onto the motors with the black adhesive we all love (Wurth Bond + Seal). While obvious now, that's exactly the sort of tip that belongs in the "manual".

I used superglue. Mirrors still firmly attached after 15 years.Turns out that the aluminum plates are stuck onto the motors with the black adhesive we all love (Wurth Bond + Seal). While obvious now, that's exactly the sort of tip that belongs in the "manual".
