Hello all,

Need to book the Ultima in for alignment and tracking, would rather stay with the car whilst it's done as she isn't easy to navigate etc.

Can anyone recommend somewhere for vehicles of a similar nature or who they trust?

Not taken anything quite as special as an Ultima there, but Christchurch Tyres (Wilverley Road / Somerford) have a proper Hunter laser set-up and did a perfect job on the Scooby (twice, as it bust a shock a few weeks ago). They seem a good bunch in there and always busy so as good a bet as any.

If you do take it there, then drop in for a cuppa; we're close by and have neighbours who like loud cars... smile

I ended up using ProTyre in Poole (near Makro).

They let me drive onto the ramp, and stick around when they did all the work etc.

I tried Christchurch tyres first, but they were booked up for a couple of weeks.

Christchurch Tyres are the only people I let touch my Evo. The guy who does the tracking is called Shaun Taylor who is the bosses son. really nice guy.

Mike Stokes. Full alignment was £60 last year when I used them

Another vote for protyre here. They let me hover about and chat with the technician while he works. You can watch him bring the wheels into line on the monitor and they're quite interested in the exotic and unusual. Price wise, under 60 quid and you can sometimes sweet talk a few extra quid off too.

Christchurch tyres. Had 1st Viper, Tiger and dailys cars done there. Full set of alignment variables camber, caster, thrust, toe etc adjusted and checked and altered, out of spec if requested too. Very hospitable op.s and permitted to do my own inspections under the car on ramp while they operate (as long as i didn't get in the way!).
Did Pro-tyre once- they didn't seem nearly as communicative and i wasn't overall impressed by the £90 alignment service. Wasn't allowed near the car during works
