Except the owner is probably trying to make it read as DANGER.
So?

No bodged letters- check
No illegal screws covers- check
No dodgy fonts- check
Spells a word as close as you can get, with 6=G and 3=E.

It's st.

A 6 doesn't look like a G, and a 3 doesn't look like an E.

The owner does look like a massive belm, however.

I'm collecting a new car on Thursday and Mrs Local surprised me yesterday with a private plate as an early Christmas present. I'm very pleased with it & I'll have some fully legal plates made up for the new car:

RG10 CAL

Like most people who post on this thread, I've always held certain views about people who tamper with numberplates to make them appear to say something else. Mis-spacing, mis-placed screws and oddly shaped numbers have always led to a roll of the eyes and the whisper of "tosser" under my breath.

However, I'm very ashamed to admit that the temptation to slightly mis-space my new number is almost overwhelming. I mean, really, what's the harm?:

I haven't given in to temptation yet, and I'll start off with the fully legal plates, but the urge is strong.

Somebody stop me!

Yeah, bit more expensive though - I'll see how the new book sells when I eventually get round to finishing it.

Don't do it, Reg - it'll only end in tears. Well at least it did for me.

Some time back, I bought myself AL07 USA then set about looking for a suitable car to put it on. Fast forward 18 months or so to March of this year and I finally got my 'dream' Evora. The dealer made me up a legal set of plates which were duly put on when the reg transfer went through, and I also got a set of mis-spaced plates from the internet for car shows and other off-road events.

Just as one particular show was coming to a close the heavens opened, and keen to exit the field before it turned into a quagmire, I clean forgot to remove the 'show' plates. Next day on my way to work a 'Battenburg' Beemer comes up behind me on blues and twos, I dutifully pull into the kerb to let him go on his way to the bank heist, multiple murder, motorway pile-up or whatever major emergency he was attending, but he pulls in and stops behind me. On getting out he points to the plates, I smack my forehead and explain the circumstances from the previous day, and there and then I remove them (they were only on with double-sided tape) to reveal the legal plates underneath. "I can see how that would happen sir, so here's a £100 FPN to remind you to remove them before you go on a public road the next time", furious .

So there you are, the only time I've ever gone on the Queen's Highway with an illegal plate and I didn't even last 24 hours before being pulled by Police Scotland's finest.

What makes this worse is that if says 'because I'm worth it' at the bottom.

I guess this means yet more muppets who think that 'B16' spells 'big'. Of course they'll have to mis-space it to get that. Am I alone in thinking that such plates are really just a tax on stupidity??
