This car has been on eBay before: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ac-Cobra-Kit-Car-/191658...
At present there is one bid. Did they fail to look at the 4th photograph? The car is described as an AC289 but it is no kit that I recognise. I thought it was a Pilgrim Hawthorn until I checked the pictures. The boot looks wrong for any kind of Cobra kit. Any one any ideas?

first view on front subframe and suspension i thought : Pilgrim

is the rear granada or sierra?

the number-plate (at DVLA´s databse) says its a DAX.

but did dax ever built cars based on the ford suspension?

the body looks modified and totally mis-shaped.

imo the car is worth nothing.

What ever it is, it's landfill. No hope of ever registering it. Bids are probably just looking at parts value.

If its on DVLA as a DAX then it's registered.
If you and the rest of us can't identify it then an MOT tester or the man from VOSA/DVLA will not be able to dispute it either.
Not saying it is right just the facts.

Doesn't mean it won't be 1) a problem to get running again, or 2)A problem at MOT. Eg is it correctly registered? Many a Dutton out there that isn't, so is it a DAX? Just because it's not a Jag, Ford or whatever any more still doesn't guarantee it's properly registered. MOT, VOSA or DVLA have the upper hand, so could dispute it.

the car is pictured with a number plate from a DAX fitted...not more , not less

i think that was the reason it was bought from the actual seller or the person before him:

he used the identity of the dax to make his freshly built cobra road-legal, avoiding SVA or to give his "incorrect" registered cobra a more "correct" identity.

anayway, both options would mean that the ID has been transfered already, so the car for sale can never be re-registered on that.

and if an expirienced mr. mot, mr. vosa or hwhoever would see this car they would immediately say "this is not a DAX"

anyway: the seller is clearly stating:

"no v5 will need registering as number plate was transferred off vehicle some time ago"

Before I clicked the link, I read through this thinking even if the mechanicals aren't right, its a cobra replica, keep the shell and put the right bits inside it.

Then I clicked the link.

No, just no. Run away.

If that's the case, wouldn't it have been allocated a new number by the DVLA?

Only two days to go and bidding at £911. Does picture 9 really show a differential that is held in place with two exhaust u-clamps?
