Hi I was wondering if anyone is selling a gear box for a vxr8 6l 57 plate. If anyone can help could you give Vince a call on 07870548694. Thanks

Assuming you're after a manual gear box? I have a low mileage reconditioned TR6060. Assuming you probably have the older T56 in your 6.0l LS2 car, the TR6060 is the newer box and is a direct replacement for the T56.

I've just spoken to Vince now regarding the reconditioned gearbox I have (which is currently sat at Walkinshaws).

Feel free to get in touch with me, or call Walkinshaw Performance directly, if you need any more info. I'm sure Walkinshaws will be happy to fit the gearbox for you too at a small extra cost.

A 6060 is not a direct replacement for a T56, unless you've taken it from a working car including shifter, propshaft etc

For the VXR8, there is a TR6060 which is a direct replacement for the T56 (fitted to VXR8s). We have had both fitted to our old VXR8, and they were exactly the same.

I do know that a VXR8 T56 is different to a Monaro T56, so maybe that's where your confused?

Must be some differences then, I was always aware all T56 types are a stick in the box with slip yoke at the back, and all 6060's a remote shifter with bolt on flange at the back

Ian is correct. I've had it done twice now on two different VXR8's

Not needing one myself but was curious as whats the cost on a new gearbox if it goes bang? (i have a 6.0 on a 57 plate)

That's a 6060 though, not a T56 replacement ?

It really is a good price for a brand new box too.

This is a TR6060 for VXR8s. It lines up exactly where the T56 gearbox for the VXR8 does, and has the same shift control. So yes, some T56 'boxes have a remote shifter, which won't fit a Monaro.

It really is a good price for a brand new box too.

All the vxr8's have the same remote type shifter weather t56 or 6060 the only difference I've noticed is there is an extra plug on the 6060 that isn't used on the vxr8

I have a reconditioned T56 from my 08 plate VXR8, which hasn't been used since being reconditioned and a TR6060 which was brand new from PWP a few months ago and has been used for minimal miles. Can arrange fitting at the garage too if required, drive in drive out service.

Both no-longer required as fitting a Magnum. :-)

I was quoted just over £3k, fully fitted including LS7 clutch (which you may as well do while there).
