Problems installing map. Garmin Nuvi1450

Hi all.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1450 that i bought in Florida earlier on in the year.

I've bought the Europe (UK and Ireland) maps but cannot get it to install on the device.

Without the DC card in it got to 50% and then crashed. I got in touch with Garmin "Support" who says that i might not have enough space on the device. This is despite the device reporting just under 2GB free and the maps being 345Mb, but never the less i put a 4GB card it it and restarted the process.

Now the installer on the web just goes straight to 'download failed'. I'm at a loss now.

Anyone had similar experience?

Basecamp doesn't do map updates, you need Garmin Express:

I got it sorted. In the end i called Garmin. The mentioned they had some issues at their end and did something to my map purchase.

I restarted the process and it was all good. Goes to show that actually talking to someone is always the best option.
