So Messers Quintana, Froome and Contador will be rolling up to the start line on Saturday, ahead of them lie 6 flat stages, 13 hill and mountain stages with 9 summit finishes, a team time trial (8kms) on the first day and an individual time trial stage (38kms) on the third Wednesday.... I cant see past Quintana at the moment but I'm hoping J-Rod and TvG run the big names hard. The prospect of Nibbles, Aru and Landa too.... cant wait to see how that one pans out.

Looking forward to it but I thought Contador was missing this year's Vuelta?

Contador was seen training on one of the mountain stages in the last week or so apparently fuelling rumours he was planning to ride, could be a conincidence but as there are a number of climbs new to la vuelta this year its a very big coincidence....

9 summit finishes!!

I've seen one of the stages and it looks like a sick joke when you see the profile.

Ohhh. Well if he can be in form for it then it would be good to add another contender to the race, even if we would just spend the 3 weeks wondering whether his form was because he'd just visited a good steak house in northern Spain

Is there a link to the course profile okgo?

Yes - ASO race so the broadcast rights come bundled with LeTour rights I think.

Inrng says the team have denied Contador is riding it. Sagan will be there though - wonder if he can win a stage?

Link to denial

I really hope we get David Millar commentating again. Thought he was great during the Giro and missed him during the Tour.

Although it appears they are only doing highlights not live stages.

Suits me, daily highlights would be great

Think I was living on borrowed time watching the live Alps stages of the Tour in the office on my hidden monitor!!

Pretty sure it is on ITV4 though I haven't checked

I'd love Froome to win it but I think it will be Quintana, assuming MoviStar back him from the off.

He was doing Eurosport pundit work for the Tour, gave great insights and technique tips etc in the build up and cut aways during the race.

Quintana is going to need to build one hell of an advantage in the mountains before that ITT; it's Aru for me, light climber suited to the really steep stuff, has one hell of a foil in Nibali and he's not got a Tour in his legs.

It's always been the dopers favourite.

The Spanish lax attitude to doping always results in some shock wins and spectacular racing. hehe
