Free eye tests and free prescriptions.....there has to be SOME benefit to passing the most recent age milestone? Can't at the moment think of any other benefit frown

Do you get free Viagra as well Anthony, or is that sort of thing just a distant memory for you?

Phazed,

I would have loved to come, this is my birthday, so celebrating on a track would have bene great, but I have a couple of issues:

1) my boss is in town and I have not seen him since early February and he wants to take us out for diner and been told there’s no way out of it (even on my BD) – I guess he pays the wages, so… and he’s a nice guy too (and I will soon ask for a pay rise, so it’s better to entertain when he comes over…)
2) I have recently bought a set of “after market” ceramic coated de-catted manifold and a de-catted “Y” piece (not by ACT, but made by someone else (Time from ACT machine the flanges of the of the manifolds for me and supplied the gaskets and screws, etc for the system and told me who made this exhaust, but I have forgotten the name of the guy who make it…) and now the 500 sounds far too loud to be accepted on tracks …

Can anyone suggest a good set of silencers?

Basically it’s a 500, pretty much stock, except that I have the ACT smooth bore kit and now de-catted manifolds and de-catted Y piece and as far as I am concerned the silencer has not been touched…

I am looking for a set of track day silencers that would allow me to pass the noise test…

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers, Frenchie

I have a spare set of ACT ones that I usually bring with me but they haven't been used for a couple of years.

If we get together soon, try them. You can borrow/buy if you want.

Ian, sounds like your installation will come just after mine is all finished, with Alun's (ClassiChim) having already just been done. Looks like Dom's got his work cut out for the next few weeks!

Where's that?

Joking aside, start a new dedicated thread as a few of the regulars maybe ignoring this thread as they are not attending.
Separate thread created as suggested, thanks for keeping me on the straight & narrow!

Bumpy Bump bump bump.

Right I'm booked on. Anyone booked a garage? I note that this is a Javelin day although booked through trackdays. If no one has booked a garage would you likeme to organise a couple? Or if people have booked garages shall I ask for all the TVRs to be grouped together (note if you have booked a different car I'll need to know to add you in).

Where are people staying? I may drive up to Mat Smith the day before to collect my shocks and try the Brekland for room the night before.

Sorry guys, I have already done 10 this year, have run out of tyres, spare cash and wifely indulgence, so will be sitting out the rest of the year. Hope you all have a great day.

Looks like 7 names (possible 6-cars) on the list so we may have a garage.

I'm staying at the Breckland the night before so will aim to get there early doors an snaffle a spare garage just in case.

I'll be going to Mat Smith's the day before to collect some bits so will be at the hotel nice and early.

See you all next week.

I'm going up the night before and camping over so if we have a garage number in advance I can block it with the trailer and stop anyone from pinching it early the next morning ..

They allocate the booked garages in advance and stick people's names on them on large sheets of paper. The knack is to spot and snaffle the unbooked ones.......and you won't be the only one trying. I got completely beaten to it last time by a gang of about 6-8 MX5 owners/race teams.

Have a look at Snetterton's own website too.......if there is racing on 19th/20th, then the competing teams may well have booked your track day as a test day, in which case most of the garages will be booked by them and you will be lucky to find any free spares.

TBH, if there is any weather risk, or if you want to work on your car, just book the ruddy things. You can get two cars in a garage, so share the cost.

Booked. My first track day for 9 years, open pit lane probably not the best idea.
Not driven the 300 circuit - wasn't built when I had to stop tracking.
Crikey, what have I got myself into - hope it's a dry day!
