I got my fuses and relays mounted on their bracket yesterday and they're now happily (hopefully!) tucked away behind their ally closure plate. Time to do the ECU bracket today.

A quick look to compare my AS engine loom connections with the factory photos shows (no surprise!) that 2 of 5 don't match. It's a bit like trying to do a jigsaw when the pieces and cover art aren't quite the same.

My two ECU connections and fuse block match the photos, but the other two bits (relays?) do not. The factory photos show one relay attached to an ECU bolt, while the other is mounted next to the fuse block. Since my two relays are different from those in the photos (and neither will mount in the position adjacent to the fuse block), I'm thinking of attaching them to either side of the ECU using two of its bolts. Does that seem reasonable?

Has anyone with a recent AS LS7 install run into this issue?

Turns out that my idea should work. The factory pics, BTW, are from 2007 and the AS loom has evidently changed since then.

A related question: How does one remove a wire with a crimped fuse terminal from a fuse block without destroying it? I need to pull one wire from the AS fuse block to route it around one of the chassis tubes.

Thanks!

Ken - did you have to build your own ECU bracket or was one supplied? (if so where, as I haven't seen it anywhere)...

Hi Huzi,

While the bracket fixings (screws, nuts, spacers, etc.) definitely came from Ultima, my recollection is that the bracket, itself, was supplied by AS.

Have you ordered your engine yet?

I have my engine from AS... the box had the ECU and harness, but no bracket..

Only bracket I have is for the Ultima relay/fuse box on the left side, not for the AS right side...

OK, I must have misremembered and the bracket came from Ultima along with its fixings. That makes sense, as not updating the bracket to reflect changes in the AS-supplied relays is par for the course.
