Oh well, i guess that's the price for playing hard.

A day at Snetterton on the 300 Circuit has battered my rear pads with next to no life left in them & the front are down to 1200 miles left.

Other than a full spin coming out of Montreal, 10secs after saying let's see what this hairpin's like with the TC off the car behaved impeccably & other than a Radical, nothing came past whilst on it. Best lap was a 2:25 with a top speed (GPS) of 143mph down Bentley Straight.

These are some comparative times by Pro Drivers in road cars, that are usually clad in track rubber & set up specifically for the event in question, so all in all i'm pleased & being brutally honest was nursing my brakes a little in the morning & a lot in the afternoon, so am confident i could knock around 2-3 secs off my times with new tyres & pads & is also the first time i've driven Snett so with further instruction i could get the times down.

New Pagid RS29's going on next week as well as H&R Springs, so she'll be ready for Nordschleife, Spa & Circuit Jules Tacheny in October.

You'll knock more than 2-3 seconds off by turning the disabling the TC...

Nice one Paul.

That car is a ballistic missile, having seen it in the flesh.

Can you not get some cup2's or some other more track orientated tyres?

That may be the case, but i'll be needing to drive the car home so MDM is the bravest i'll be & that lead to a spin coming out of Montreal in the dry. With more confidence i'd try MDM for a full lap & see how she does, but fully off is probably a step too far out of my comfort zone.

The RS4 wasn't quick & a huge difference in power/torque, it was also being driven by a novice so always best to allow plenty of room & select overtaking points carefully, hence gunning it by at the start of the Bentley Straight which is very wide.

Thanks Jamie.

This is a serious quandary for me as YES i can get Cup 2's in the front OEM size, but the closest i can get for the rears is to drop the width from 295 to 285, however the remainder of the sizing appears to remain in line with the OEM rears.

Appears to be the same with 888's, however they may be a touch too track focussed for the M5 & i do have to drive to/from the track.

Interesting time around the 300 course for the big M5. I did an evening trackday couple of weeks back and managed a 2.23 in my Elise (running Nitrons and R888's). Had at least five seconds to take off with more circuit knowledge/a better driver!

Was my first time there too so i guess with further instruction & knowledge the time would fall & no doubt more so with a better driversmile
