Hi Folks,
Could anyone give me a helping hand? I am looking for an original / custom made - Alu or Steel - Tuscan V6 tank in good (used) or new condition.
I am trying to finalize a 1970 Tuscan V6 restoration and the existing tank is not really prone for a proper refurbishment operation.
Any suggestions, supplier or seller will be highly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help.

I have the original tank for my Tuscan in the garage needs a small repair.
I used an ally tank which came out of my old Taimar. All good.

Do you do them then A?
Pro Alloy did powder coating externally although I'm not sure if it was needed, and the sender fitting is set up with a cast inner section tapped for the AC sender unit. There was an option for the bayonet type sender fitting but I went for the original as they are available and known to work... I don't have any problems with fuel spillage though even with the old although as the tank is well baffled I suppose that helps?

Thank you for all suggestions and the link. However, my first choice would be a steel tank. If I won't be able to get one, I will start looking for an alloy replacement.

to stop the petrol coming out of the tank you buy a Toyota MX5 non return valve (very cheap). Turn an alloy collar to adapt between the different Dias and fit it in the Filler neck no problem. This mod has been used on several lotus Elan +2 to stop a similar spillage problem when taking bends with a full tank
Part n° GE4T-42-270B
i hope this helps someone

Alan, Great tip.
Is that Toyota MR2 or Mazda MX5 valve? You've built a hybrid!

sorry i meant Mazda MX5. The small bore tube/vent for filling can be connected to filler neck just below the MX5 Mod

i see what you mean now Adrian. This was a mod to my Lotus Elan +2 but of course the breathers on a +2 go high up Under the headlining from left to right. On the TVR they stay low level. When i have fitted the MX5 part to my 3000S i will test and to see if petrol comes out of small vent pipe on corners. If so i will need to find a way to fix vent below MX5 part. I'm sure something simple can be done to stop petrol spillage on corners with a full tank without resorting to a foam filled tank

I presume on a Vixen style filler neck the Jap Mod wouldn't have those issues?

Adrian@ said:
The Vixen filler neck has a 90 degree braised on boss/nut that then takes a threaded fitting, it is far shorter and has a very small amount of space to add things, there are 2 different versions of cap and both are difficult to seal, along with this the tank has a built in vent return into the actual tank neck. The lower position of the tank and the throw/design of suspension has the car inherently more level stance, which makes it a easier problem to solve.
Having not seen the Mazda part as yet, I don't know what it does.

Thats a poor design Adrian, surely the acceleration forces will mean it leaks out the back wink
