I picked up a cheap 9-3 convertable (1999) 2.0T. It surprisingly has full service history and is in extremly good condition and obviously has been well looked after. I have a query about the engine, how do I know what the HP is? I don't think its a 150 as it seems quite quick.

Could have been previously remapped to around 220bhp as its a nice cheap mod on these. They're a bit sluggish standard, pretty lively after a remap though smile

Boost gauge = high pressure turbo and 185bhp.
No boost gauge = low pressure turbo and 154bhp.

£50ish remap takes it to 220bhp as dai mentions.

It has a boost gauge. Just topped up the hydrolic fluid in the hood pump (was a bit slow) and noticed the one of the hydrolic rams has a leak around the top seal. I will see how long it lasts before playing up again and maybe then use some Lucus hydrolic stop leak. Remap may be fun but need sort strange clutch related noise first (thrust bearing?). Still for £1k can't be bad.

How did you get on with the leak stop?
If you dont use the roof much a small leak in the rams may not use that much fluid
