I need some drawings done for planning permission.

Not a glamorous job though.

This is for a timber garage but it will be a kit so there isn't a lot of scope to be creative.

The tricky bit lies in the fact that we're in the Old Aberdeen conservation area and the house is category B listed.

If anyone has had a good, recent, experience with a toonser architect who knows their way round coonsil vagaries then I'd love to hear it.

The man who built my house is quite good. He runs a business in Inverurie. He knows the planning process well.

ETA a colleague has recent garage / awkward planning experience too. I'll get you the architect's name if you like.

Eric,

Would recommend Graeme McDonald at 338 building design. He's based out in Alford (leases an office from us in fact) and we use him for a lot of our own stuff.

Sorry Eric,

The name's Julie Thain, from Peterculter.
The contentious-planning-permission-had-to-go-to-council-meeting garage she sorted out is getting the roof put on at the moment.

Good luck we're still waiting for planning approval. They were only submitted in March. If it is anything out of the ordinary they seem to take ages.

Which reminds me I must write to my councillor to complain about the time taken.

Can you let me know the quality and how you get on Kiltie? I'm keen on a single garage or even just a car port and they look decent.

Will do ... although I reckon it'll be next year now ... given my planning predicament.

I think there have been others on here who have had experience of buying from Forest Log Cabins and, as I recall, all positive.

Jamie, google is failing me. Do you know the name of the practice?
