Don't do it ! It started out slow and ended on utter perfection ( the series anayway ) with the final of Blackadder Goes Forth. You simply won't be able to go back and recapture that again. Leave it be like Fawlty Towers as each episode being a finely crafted gem.
Red Dwarf should be the warning flag here ; it started out slow and reached perfection only to keep coming back like Fools and Horses too.

A Colditz based one sounds interesting, although it might work better on radio than TV.

leave it alone the younger generations will not find it funny one little bit
Just as they don't find the existing ones funny, humour has changed
And other than us peeps who enjoyed the originals a hit today it won't be
Best left as is IMO

I think styles and mood change, but well written and well acted humour doesn't (much). Not that a younger generation (my nephews like it) would be a reason not to make a new series and give some 30/40 year olds a good old laugh.

That could have a fighting chance of being made as radio costs buttons to do, it overcomes the fact they're all old gits now and being radio it means expectations will be lower.
