I can't see a thread on it yet. It's one of the few games I am genuinely excited about, am I alone here?

There is a thread somewhere. I'm looking forward to it immensely, but Ubisoft.

Also looking good is Ghost Recon Wildlands.

The videos online are of gameplay. I know they're not the finished version, but could they change that much between now and release day?

Sadly, this. I'm done with them.

I think the concept of the game was/is okay, but I hate when they demo the gameplay for these type of games, and the players are on headsets to each other all serious and pro like:

"OK I'll take the rear and provide covering fire",
"Right, I'm going in, wait - guys do you see that?"
"Roger, I've got your back, reloading.."

When in reality it's almost always like:

"D1ckhead stop camping I'll shag yer mum!!"
- someone playing dubstep down their mic -
- incoherent Justin Bieber sounding kid -
- random Scouse rambling and F-words -

You should try the Darkest Hour 44-45 mod for Red Orchestra on PC. The on-line play is often like that,as if you don't work as a team you don't win.

Watch Dogs. Looked spectacular in their 'gameplay' demos. What we got on release was just awful in comparison That was Ubisoft too.

Play on console mostly - well, the PC / Steam games I have aren't really multiplayer. I tend to play all the big games on PS3 / PS4 and then click-games like Civ 5 etc on Steam.

I'm not a massive online gamer anyway, I prefer to just play games solo but either way don't have many mates that play online, so I'm left to deal with the general idiots when I do venture online.

Wow.

I knew it was different compared to E3 on release but thats the first time I've seen that side by side comparison. Thats unbelievably different.

I enjoyed the game though. Kept me entertained for a few weeks.

Planetside 2 often has proper serious coordination, not sure what it's like on PS4 for that though.

PC gamers are very different (does depend on the game a little) to console gamers, the culture is different, I think its down to the hardware cost. You do get a few idiots but on MMO's I just ask questions in local chat and always get a informed and polite answer. On FPS its competitive but you generally don't use in game voice coms, you use a TS server that separate and is with people you get on with and like (generally) PC gamers are more mature.

Ive been in some super super professional guilds/communities/corporations in games, with interview processes and in a couple of games I was paid to play with ingame currency and items as a sort of sub-contractor/mercenary arrangement. It does really depend on the aspirations of the guild/corp and your own aspirations and time investment available.

I play very casual these days and often pretend very convincingly to be a noob.

I noticed this - looked amazing on the initial release trailers and looked like a 10 year old version of counter strike when I saw a beta test on Twitch. Ger the feeling this game is also going to be an epic let down. Squad based games only work if you have a good squad - if you play with randoms then its going to be a nightmare (like L4D and GTA5 Heists!)

I heard that the release date was pushed out a bit. I take it this means 2016?

March next year I believe, yes. If it's bug free I'll be happy with the delay.

Hardly any compared to pc!!!! Had some great moments on the pc version moving from base to base like a massive swarm of locusts. Horrible if you were on the receiving end though!

I blame the controls myself.

There is coordination on the consoles, you just need to be on the right team. us PH lot used to SMASH people on the likes of MW2. All 6 of us knowing exactly what the other was doing.

same goes for BF4 these days (with the MERC lot anyway). Lots of talking about where fire is coming from and when to push up / who needs what support to help them keep going.

Still looking forward to the Division but going to hold off pre-ordering until I have seen some actual gameplay footage.
