Where you staying and what are you looking for? Is this holiday stopover or business trip, after local food or western?

Berw is the expert on KL and the assorted eateries etc, but some that i know

Gobo Chit Chat in the Traders does great steaks and fusion food's.

Go to Jalan Alore for loads of street side seafood restaurants

Top Hat is a well -known old one but not sure what its like these days.

Suria (Mall under the Twin Towers) and Pavilion have a good range too including good dim sum, etc.

I ended up at some steamboat place in a very 'local' neighbourhood where nobody spoke any English except some local lad entertaining a group of floozies at the table next to us. Fortunately he helped us order.

It was fantastic. I think it was called Xaio Fei Yang.

I wasn't that impressed with Jalan Alor although did find a good dim sum place at the bottom of the hill.

Imbi market was fun for breakfast.

We're staying in the Shangri La.
We'll be there for the last 3 days of our holiday having been at the Datai on Langkawi for 11 days.

Food wise, we're pretty flexible really, Local/high-end. Is there a good steak place anywhere? We enjoyed our evening at Vertigo in Bangkok last year.

Thanks for the info so far.

One of the best steaks I've had was at the 'Gobo Upstairs' bar and Grill in the Traders. I say 'one of', which isn't true because I keep going back!

Magnificent Fish & Chips on Chankat Bukit Bintang does a great mixed seafood grill and is in a pretty vibrant location if you want to move on for a few drinks.

If you're feeling pork withdrawal symptoms then there are a few Belgian/German bars dotted around with pork knuckle / Wurst and decent continental (read 'expensive') beers.

Bombay Palace is a great choice for Indian food, and is located in a wonderful old colonial type house.

As mentioned before, the Suria mall has a good range of restaurants too.

I need to go back to KL!
