Soft suspension, soft seats, quiet, light, simple, effortless, comfortable, flawed, quirky, characterful.

Swapped my Astra with one of our engineers' Nemo van yesterday afternoon to allow him to get an early start on a job in Aberdeen. This morning I took the Nemo to the Citroen dealer for a service and was given the use of a courtesy Cactus. What a pleasant experience. Basically the old school soft squishy comfy, bugger the body control, budget wafter a lot of PHers have been lamenting the loss of.

Had a bit of a bloody hell moment when I first saw it but, now it's back, I kinda miss it.

BTW there's something really nice about driving a properly light vehicle. Couldn't believe a car that size can squeeze in at under one thousand kilos.

I must admit I think there a great family wagon what's not to like,
If I had kids it would be my choice, easy on the wallet funky and it can't get damaged to easily in the car park
And it's comfortable smile

You can still have a lot of the Cactus doors susceptible to damage and the doors will still ding other peoples - especially the rears.

I really like these. I was on the verge of getting one, but then they pulled the diesel auto model for some reason. The only auto model now is the 82bhp petrol version, which is too slow, even given the relatively light weight...

The auto box is not well reviewed.

Gutless but funky. Flawed but has charm and puts a smile on your face. A bit like the Jeep Renegade.

Sat in one at Goodwood and thought it looked great, ideal for a town wagon. We need more of this, light, basic manual not even wind up windows in the back. Im severely tempted by one for a runaround.

I'm strangely tempted, but I don't think I'll ever undertake ownership.

I don't know what the engine is like to actually drive, but the 1.2 turbo petrol makes 110ps and does 0-60 in 9.3 claimed. That's not completely gutless.

Tbh, if the reliability is there I'll consider one in the future. Particularly if the missus is back driving again by then...

Looked up the weight of the Cactus and CAP says they weigh about 1600kg, or am I missing something?
