If it is the same as the V6 cars then Yes you should be able to remove a split pin and pull the pivot pin out

What is the big problem?

THANKS,
The Pedal is broken there where the gas cable is normally fitted.

How can the pivot pin pulled out? There is no place or? I have a LHD car.

I don't think yours is broken. There should be a slot at the top of the pedal rod so that the cable can be put in place. That is the only way the cable can be fitted because of the part on the other end which is attached to the throttle.

If the cable is slipping through the slot fit a little cup washer as you can see on mine. Like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M-J-Products-Cup-Washer-... or smaller to stop the nipple on the end of the cable pulling through.

You could try squeezing the sides of the slot together but there is always the danger it might snap so if you want to do this then you will have to remove the pedal and use some heat.

The tension and the shape of the nipple.

It looks to me that you will need to remove the whole pedal assembly.

There is a circlip that holds the shaft in place upon which the pedal pivots, but it looks like you would be unable to remove the shaft due to the location of the transmission tunnel. It looks like the pedal assembly was made up before the car was built, unfortunately with your car being LHD, it is not possible to remove the shaft with the pedal assembly in place. I suggest there must be some nuts under the bonnet that would allow the pedal assembly to be removed.

Without resorting to removing the pedal box mounting plate, the only way to remove the pedal pivot shaft on your Left Hand Drive installation would be to cut a hole in the fibreglass of the body tunnel to allow the shaft to be extracted out to the right. It could be refitted from the left on re-assembly and the hole could be filled with fibreglass afterwards, or just fit a bung there.

Might be a job to make a hole; the pedal shaft is on one side and the gearbox/bell housing on the other.

It shouldn't be too hard to take the whole lot out, it's not really bolted to the car so much as bolts that hold things to the car go through it. Brake servo and clutch master will need to be undone and disconnected from the pedals then anything that bolts down through the top of it. Probably the brake load valve thingy, not really sure what else is going to be there on a LHD one. I don't *think* there are any bolts through from the tunnel, though if they couldn't be bothered to put the pin in from the other side I can't imagine they'd drill extra holes so they'd probably be missing even if they did exist on a RHD car.

It would probably take about 5 minutes with a Dremmel.
