I have recently moved to Germany for a new job role and I am trying to figure out the best thing to do with respect to sending money back to the UK.

I currently have two mortgages in the UK, one residential with Authority to Let and one one SVR with Authority to let.

The Res mortgage is being overpaid anyway the SVR is not (Low value home / rent is greater then mortgage / soon to be sold)

I can;
1) Save the money in Euro's and do one large transfer per year to pay off the mortgage, up to the maximum amount allowed without incurring charges. Big risk that the exchange rate will be poor when the time frame with respect to overpayments is closing.

2) Send the money home each month to overpay the mortgage, this could protect me from any annual currency fluctuations; if negative.

3) Keep all the money in Euros, hope the exchange rates improves over the next 3/4 years and completely clear my mortgage in one fell swoop, outside of ERC's.

4) Spend all my savings on a boat.

As mentioned in most of the FX related topics on here, speak to Chris Canning at Argentex. He looks after many Pistonhead members with similar needs.
