Was this a genuine griff or just a collection of bits and a new body? Did it come with a chassis plate and v5?

As far as I'm aware it's the ex Jon Shipman car that prob fell foul of complicated FIA regs therefore split and assume chassis/engine live on with a different shell that does comply and assume VIN/I.D live on with the current car thus leaving this as a shell and collection of parts with no log book or VIN etc., ( Seems all the FIA stuff is somewhat complex and at times contentious ).

Apologies if any of this is inaccurate but this is what I could glean from a bit of investigation as I too was tempted to bid as I though it looked like a dream project if bids didn't go too high and if the car could be road registered. Turns out that unsurprisingly it was being watched by many and final price went beyond my reach. Not sure what will happen to it, whether it becomes a non FIA spec race car, gets modded to become a spare FIA spec shell, somehow gets put on the road using a vixen or similar donor etc?

Whatever happens I hope it gets built into a lovely car that stays true ( in the main ) to original etc. Quite how it' comes to be known or what ID it goes onto claim or carry who knows, ( and in my mind who cares providing it does not try to steal another cars ID or masquerade as something it's not and it goes on to look, go, sound and smell like the real deal ). Good luck to whoever the lucky winning bidder was.

eBay says £9,200.

Idle thought - if you bought a new chassis / new body but built the car up with a Duratec or similar could you get it through the IVA test as a kit car.

I understand that it has no historic iD so would have to have a Q plate.

He intends to race it, as far as I know... He also races a Ginetta G4, a Lotus Elan and a Ford Falcon Sprint!
