Many posts in this thread is a perfect example of how some people just don't like change.

The GTI skin on my Phone (Nexus 5) renders perfectly. The only gripe i have is that the name of the OP appears above the thread title and i think it should be the other way around.

Other than that i find it responsive, clean looking and the menu at the bottom is, for me, functional.

Sometimes you just gotta roll with it.

All the people saying its completely unusable, are you definitely using the responsive GTI skin?

As per my post on the first page there are certainly improvements that could be made, but its far from unusable.
But look at all the guff in your screenshot, the page is so 'heavy'. There is so little text you are constantly having to scroll. IMHO.
This is exactly my issue. Even when the mobile site stopped letting me log in, I was quite content jumping on the "What's New" pages and browsing the forums, they were clean, uncluttered, and quick to load, with the perfect text height to read without having to scroll.
I'm using a Lumia (Windows), and the new skins are awfully cluttered.

I like to browse without actually posting. So I've never signed in on my mobile phone to visit the forums.

But without digging around and reading posts I would never have realised that I needed to log in and change over to the GTI skin. GTI skin should be applied automatically if browsing from a mobile device.

This. It's absolutely awful without signing in now. I've noticed this trend on other forums too. To get to the last page of a thread now takes 2 clicks instead of one. Progress eh?

Website navigation has taken a step backwards, as other posters have said any thread which lots of replies needs too many clicks to get to the last post it really needs a jump to last post button, i have now stopped visiting Pistonheads on my mobile as its irritating to use.

Thanks, not seen that on mine, so will 'hunt it out'!

really peeved off with this. I browse on my iphone5 on the train each morning. Now i can't zoom, so the text is unreadable to my failing eyes, the type colour helps even less, ads are a pain right in the body of the text too. Really poor design and implementation. If it doesn't change i will stop using it, which is a real shame.

I preferred the mobile site as it was, uncluttered, no ads. I find the gti skin on my phone glitchy and sometimes I have to press a topic 2 or 3 times before it will acknowledge and open!

PH is the kind of website you (certainly I) browse while on the loo for example, so surely it should have a proper mobile site?!

Hi all, thanks for all the feedback and apologies you are facing these issues, as it is a new platform there are always going to be a few issues that need ironing out. So that the developer have all the information to hand can you tell me what machine, operating system and browser you're working from.

Thanks

Windows 10 / Firefox
Samsung Galxaxy TabS
HTC One

All worked fine with the site up to around three or four days ago. Now that PH have decided that mobile-responsive sites are SO last year, the site is crap on all the above devices.

Tiny text, no zoom.

Ads are becoming OTT too, but that's been going on for a. lotlonger.

Another one with a gripe.

The mobile site has worked fine for me with a variety of BlackBerry devices over the years. The mobile site is now slow, hard to navigate and difficult to read. Utterly unusable.

On behalf of PH I do apologise that you are all facing these issues. We are recording all of the feedback posted and ensuring that each matter is looked into by the development team and hopefully will be resolved soon.

Appreciate the response, thanks. Fingers crossed then. I'll bet you'll find loads of people do what I do: just keep the phone for browsing only with no need to sign in.

I've found that since the demise of the basic mobile site I am barely visiting PH now, I would have a quick forum browse several times a day, but the new skin and having to log in has put me off.

Can always rely to Pistonheads to f**k it up with every "improvement". New classifieds so laden with poorly coded third party adverts that I no longer use it, a front page that has so much white space that if it was a magazine on the shelves it would have folded after the first edition... And now this. Select a forum topic and what do you get? On an entire iphone screen, after delicately choosing the topic to read, and then trying again, I'm rewarded with 4-5 lines of text, due to the amount of menus and other ste.

Ok, so it's not that much effort to get to where you need, but it used to be NO effort at all. Same with classifieds, the usability that made PH so rewarding has gone down the toilet. frown

Sorry Pistonheads, but it's change for changes sake in my opinion. I'm all for progression, but sadly you seem to be going backwards.

Though maybe I'm just old and no longer in the target audience. frown

So we can address and try to resolve these issues can you please upload and screen shot of the page. Also whether you're on a mac/ PC or mobile device. Which browser and Ops System you're using.

Having a look through the profiles of the members in this thread it appears that many aren't using the new GTI skin. Transferring will eliminate a lot of the issues raised.

Thanks

If you set the GTI theme it might be better on an iPhone but it's rubbish on an iPad where pinch to zoom is all over the place. This may seem like a basic question but how do I log out on my iPhone? The only way I can see around this mess is to log out and select GTI (not sure if you can do that without being logged in, otherwise I will need to create a dummy profile and use that on my iPhone only). Such a shame as I used to regularly use my iPhone to browse PH.

I'm using the GTI Skin.

One particular issue is that I can't seem to be able to select the header topic.

Example: I never click on the specific sub-areas within the Porsche forum. I usually click "Porsche" and see all the Porsche threads mixed. This does not appear to be possible now. Please correct me if I am wrong.

To log out on the GTI theme: On the home page on the top navigation bar there is as icon sat between the magnifying glass and the menu button. Select that which is your account details page and you will see the sign out in blue on the right-hand side of the screen. ( about a third way down)

To log out on the old skins it should be top right hand corner of the page

I will look into the Ipad issue now.
