As per the title, my GW-3000B has done sterling service for the last few years (including in Afghanistan where it was superb) but the bezel and glass are both scratched and have seen better days. I've had the replacements parts delivered by Casio with a view to getting a local jeweller to change them, however, the two local independants I've tried have both said they don't do G-Shocks. Is it a DIY job to change the glass and bezel or do I just risk breaking something and/or compromising the water resistance?

Wait a sec.

You served in Afghanistan wearing that watch? Buy another and keep it as it is.

PS Post up a photo of the watch as it currently stands.

PPS You can do it yourself and get someone to pressure test it.

I see where you're coming from Hoofy, but the scratches on the glass and damage to the bezel were mostly done after I got back the last time. I've spent the last 15 years going backwards and forwards to Afghanistan (and Iraq and the Middle East in general) having worn 3 or 4 other watches, so I'm not really sentimental about keeping my G Shock as it is and would prefer it looking undamaged smile

cool

Well, in that case, you should be able to unscrew the case and simply replace it. Did it with my Riseman and went swimming fine.
