She now has her new H&R Springs along with Pagid RS29 pads & it's made a far bigger difference than i'd expected. The drop was closer to 15mm (i was expecting 10mm) & thus she feels a lot flatter through familiar corners.

After a few high speed runs with limeypride, i feel we bedded the brakes in sufficiently so i did a few tests again o familiar roads & the bite when required is considerably better than the OEM pads. I'm now extremely excited at the prospect of 4 back to back track days across Germany & Belgium in 6 weeks.

Photos below hopefully show the difference in ride height. The first photo is a before & the next 2 were taken today so with the new springs. Having taken them i realise the angles of the before & after are different so i'm not sure it's that noticeable, but believe me in the flesh it looks considerably lower (perhaps a touch more than i like but hey ho:

It's dropped by 15mm so that's more than enough. Photos don't do it justice as the after shots are not taken at the same level as the before piccies.

Not a big fan of the 20's as virtually every F10 M5 has them so the 19's look like the option wheel.

Also starting to think the 19's offer far better traction than the 20's (more on that later).

Looks awesome and much more purposeful.

Gotta admit, the 19s are a much better looking wheel.

I don't think it needs dropped any more, far from it. Just thought that's what will happen?

You could be right that the 19's offer better traction, and probably better handling for the track??

The design of the 19s is much more attractive, but the car looks better with 20s. It's a big car and I think it needs 20 inch wheels to look right. I would swap the 'standard' five spoke 20s for those wheels if they were an inch bigger.

I hope it doesn't so fingers crossed. H&R said around 10mm so 15mm was a bit of a surprise, but i think it just about works. Now thinking about 10mm spacers front & 12mm rear, but never had spacers on a car & not sure of their benefits or strength for track?. Took the car in for a Hunter 4 wheel laser alignment yesterday as was recommended post fitting of springs & all was fine with only marginal adjustment needed all round & she now feels a good margin more planted & flat when cornering, but fully aware some of that is likely the placebo effect.

Do you need adjust the adaptive headlights to compensate for the lower springs?

I'm fairly sure the headlights are totally adaptive so will compensate for such things as they don't need adjusting for loads of fat people in the car & a boot full of luggage.

You may find they point down a little more, it depends on whether the front has been lowered more than the rear or vice versa. If so you should be able to adjust the base position with a screwdriver very easily under the bonnet

I prefer your wheels too, similarly I run the 18s on my m3.

Drop is the same all round according to the laser measurement yesterday.
