Hello,

The power steering fluid in my 1998, chimaera 450, needs a bit of a top up,

Whats the correct power steering fluid to put in?

Are leaks common as ive never topped up pas fluid on a car before,

Thanks

The two most common places for leaks are the rack itself, and that strange U bend arrangement just in front of the engine on the passenger side. Follow the pipe round the front of the engine from the reservoir if you don't know where I mean.

Qbee is spot on with his advice, I've also seen a few where the hoses go a bit porous, there's a chap selling replacement kits on the classifieds or your local pirtek type place will build a set for a good price too.

The Chimaera bible says Dextron III or Mobil ATF 220.
Others may know better

QBee is spot on, anything Dexron III marked is fine, I just used Carlube from my factors. The replacement hoses are a great idea, the u bend part on mine was a pain for leaks
