I'm in the process of thinking about my next car. Local small dealership was very tight, almost awkward to discuss discount. Buying BMW there a few well known discounters (I got just under 20% off list on my M135i). So do Mercedes not operate this way, or am asking the wrong dealers? Looking at new PCP, possibly CLA.

Thanks in advance.

I talked to a couple of local dealers, then dealt with one of them via Carwow. The same salesman as I would have been dealing with, but he was able to offer better discount via them.

Another vote for CarWow. Takes all the stress and hassle out of it and gets you a very fair price without egos getting involved.

If they're signed up to carwow they get scored on how fast they respond.

Just used it to buy a VW - compared to previous interactions with dealers the response from a couple of them to questions through carwowwas astonishing. DtD price was cheaper though.

I signed up with carwow and should get a new E class estate delivered tomorrow. I have got a great price with very little hassle - so far.

There seems to be a few dealers who do an online proposition that kicks normal dealers into touch (2 or 3k differential).

If people are interested I will post details once everything is done. First time that I have got a new car without going to a dealer and on the first day of a plate.

So, car delivered yesterday and everything worked out really well. Car is an E220 estate (bluetec AMG night edition). On the site I asked for quotes for both c and e class estates to see what deals were out there.

I had four offers in the first 24 hours. First dealer I started to work with came in very low on the p/ex which was a shame as he was good. Second dealer came very close to getting an order for a new c class but delivery was in November. I was then sent a list of e class available now at good prices from another dealer.

Deal done in an hour, part exchange agreed and best of all a very healthy discount (just under 25%). The best deals seem to be for cars that are available rather than factory built so if a buyer is not too picky on options then a good deal can be had.

I know the e class is due to be replaced which may have helped but am seeing a fair amount of (Proper) AMG models with good discounts too.
