Oulton Park Gold Cup 2015
Discussion
I've been to this every year for as long as I can remember. I went yesterday and to be honest, I came away a bit underwhelmed. The last couple of years have seen the Super Touring Cars and over the last few years there has been the fantastic Masters cars, GT40's, Lola T70's, Corvettes etc.
These did not feature this year and the whole event seemed a little quieter than normal.
Disappointing and not £23 worth for a one day visit.
Sad to have to admit that. I love Oulton and I love the Gold Cup but this year it was lacking in a few areas.

I too have been going for as many years as I can remember, and I have to agree that there didn't seem to be the variety of cars this year.
I had a weekend ticket, but only went for Sunday and Monday. The racing was still fantastic, considering the age and value of some of the cars on the track.
The last race of the weekend (60's touring cars, 2nd race of the day) was fantastic, with the lead changing lap to lap, and clearly some close calls judging by the way one of the Lotus Cortina's had the near side caved in.
It was also good to hear that the two drivers who were involved in the big accident on the Saturday in the F5000 cars were well, and one even raced on Sunday, albeit in a different car.
Also liked seeing Andy Wallace in his Le Mans winning Jaguar at lunch time on Monday. I've seen this car several times, including a few days after it returned from Le Mans, and still find it a fantastic car to see, and even better to see it being used, even if he only got to 3rd gear and 3/4 throttle.
