Subaru WRX STI vs VW Golf R: POTW

The uber Golf and the car it appears to usurp ahead of a PHTV showdown

Golf R against WRX STI is a test we've been planning for a while now. The Golf has been here since March and the Subaru since, well, for a very long time. Seems Dan is still quite keen on Subarus...

But the stars have finally aligned to bring the two together in the same place at the same time. It's a comparison you can watch on PHTV in the near future, part of a farewell to the STI as it returns to Subaru very soon. Can the Golf's freakish all-round ability beat the Subaru's more immersive, exciting drive? Have the Germans really beaten the Japanese at £30K, 300hp, all-wheel drive road rockets? To be answered soon. Until then a moody preview shot to set the scene!

FFS, the journalism at PH is really going downhill lately. Yet another Golf R vs. some-random-remotely-similar-in-BHP car article? This is being totally flogged to death now and the journalists really should pay attention to just how dead this horse really is.

When the barrel is really empty they'll still be writing articles about how unchallenging it is to masturbate in a Golf R because of the smooth auto gearbox.
