Anyone know much about these App radios?

Looking to upgrade car stereo.

Are they any good? I THINK I understand how to get music etc on, but had a question about the sat nav.

If I use the maps, it will use data. SO if I am in France, its going to cost me a fortune! Or am I being even more thick than usual and am wrong?

It will use data from your phone for everything so streaming music will cost, but yes google maps will use data too. not as much as streaming music but still.

Thnaks. Think I will not bother, a trip through France on Sat Nav will cost too much.

think 3 as in the network has 'feel at home' in france, stick a PAYG sim in just for France and happy days.

Also, you could use offline GPS software which includes maps of France and it won't cost anything as you drive. The unit has a GPS sensor.

Can't you download something like Here maps to your phone and the map for the regions you need and then set it to work offline?
It will never use any data then.
