Evening all.

My `09 XC60 sunroof has today decided not to close properly.

I tilted the roof on the way to Winchester and when I arrived I selected it closed. It started to close (perhaps shutting 70% of the way) only for it to re-open. I opened the roof fully and ensured there were no obstructions and tried again. Again it partially closed only to re-open.

From the fully open position (slid fully rearwards) it closes correctly but every time I tilt the roof it refuses to close correctly. I can get it to close from the tilt position if I give it some gentle pressure on the trailing edge of the roof when it starts to close but of course this is of no use when I`m moving.

Any ideas?

I had something similar with my V70.
In my case it needed a software reset.

Ah, I take it this was a main dealer fix?

Can you remember a rough cost for the fix?

I took mine to a main dealer.
When I first spoke to them on the phone they thought that it might have been
a minor plastic part that had broken, but it turned out that it just needed a re-set.
Iirc it was about £30.

Many thanks.

It's due a service next month so I'll get them to have a look then.

I see that you are in Wiltshire, it was MRG in Chippenham who fixed it for me;
I can highly recommend them for service.

I'm not too far away from them so I'll take it there this time.

Thanks again.
