Bulka ser or bulka budyn. Pastries with custard or sweet cheese.

If you like smoked meats, many different and strong varieties.

The bread is good also, keeps well.

krufki (I think)

Fudge in vanilla or chocolate flavours, yellow or brown bag with individually wrapped fudges. Sweet.

From the freezer section: pirogi potato dumplings filled either with meat or strawberries.

From the fridge: pickled dill cucumbers in bags, and kabanossi long thin smoked sausages. Great beer snacks.

They all seem to sell bags of what look very similar to wotsits corn puffs but the polish are made with corn and peanuts and are very moorish. also most polish hotdogs are very nice too. The Kebab flavour crisps look like something i need to try.

Beware with the strong meats though, they contaminate other stuff in your fridge with the overpowering smell.

Yes, these are great and I like them very much. HOWEVER be aware of the fact that the thin ones (my favourite) are at least 50%+ fat so don't eat too many.

Either, they are very fatty though and lightly frying dry lets some of it out and intensifies the flavour.

Cold out of the fridge but am sure you could eat it hot too. I got about a kilo from Costco and have been eating them for the past month. No wonder I am gaining weight. biggrin

I drove back from Warsaw with a bag full of them in a coolbox, the car was glorious after an overnight stop in Germany, garlic and juniper is better than any Magic Tree smile

I quite like Prince Polo chocolate but they aren't exactly ground breaking.

I'd really like to be able to go in and buy everything for a full meal but I don't have a clue what goes with what, whenever I've been to Poland my British father in law cooks British food because his wife likes it and the wedding I went to is a blur as far as food goes.

It looks as though the Hairy Bikers are doing something with kielbasa on their new show at 8pm tonight (BBC2 I think) so fans of sausage might want to give that a look for ideas.

Also Furious Pete did a world tour vid in Warsaw that shows some local stuff - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSy0RzVblDU
