Does 'Everyday thing' in this context mean 'the kind of things it's normal to do every single day' or just 'normal conventional stuff most people have done'?

From the age of 5 for about 4 years, my eldest son decided he would eat virtually nothing else! Tinned tuna and mayo sandwich, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
