Just booked a last minute holiday in Kos as I need to put my feet up.

Any tips please as I've never been there?

Must do/see?

Must avoid?

I have just read about that on Google, Puggit. Seems like they're getting around 600 a day and the Island's the size of a postage stamp, bugger it, too late now it's all booked and paid for.

Still, we're not staying in Kos town which is where the majority of them seem to be.

Kefalos is ok. There's a hot spring of the coast of kos town. We've been twice. Usually hire quads and zoom about on the back dirt tracks. There is an old castle near the airport. And a wild peacock sanctuary in the middle of the island.

There's an ongoing discussion on the Kos trip advisor forum and the general summary seems to be they stay in one section of the town, it absolutely stinks where they are, numbers of new arrivals each day can be in the thousands if conditions are good and once you leave that side of the island you won't see another migrant

Kardemena a good 30km from Kos town on the other size of the island seemed nice.

I was staying at the Lakitira Mark Warner resort further down the coast but I would walk to the little town for a bit of peace and a cheap beer.

Went to Kos a few years ago and stayed just outside Mastahari. Lovely little fishing village/small town. You can get a boat for the day across to Kalymnos, it's also known as the sponge divers island or something.

Thanks everyone.

We're staying near Tigaki. I reckon we'll just give Kos town a miss.

Love the idea of hiring a couple of Quads. thumbup
