Hello all, at the coming Xmas period I will be doing a Euro tour all being well.

I want to buy a cheap car which will take me over Europe.

I need something to be as reliable and well built as possible. Comfort would be a plus

I was thinking maybe an estate car for luggage space butbisnt I must have.

My list so far is.

Some kind of old mercedes? Im not really familiar with them. But I have heard of there reputation for being very well built

A bmw 3 series or 5 series of the 80s/90s which is same reasons as above

Or I.might enjoy something convertable . Mx5/ fiat barrichetta maybe

Fire away with suggestions and also point me in the direction of threads maybe ?

X300 Jag if you want character or Lexus LS400 if you value reliability above all else.

Cheap, luxurious, reliable, it makes it tough if you want all three.
An early Jaguar X Type sounds your best bet. Or an early Honda CRV.

Not quite as lavish as a lexus or jag but a Honda Accord estate? Usually leather, seats are nice and the 2.4 has got 180 brake
