Tickets and premier inn booked but now need parking, all the nearby NCPs are booked except one which is a bit of a hike from the hotel.

Anyone got any suggestions around CF10 2HE for weekend of 2nd October?

Thanks

Thanks for the reminder - just booked the NCP (20th Sept)!

I checked for hotels within 5 minutes of my email confirming tickets and they were already sold out. Clearly block booked - so stuff them, we're driving in for the day, parking and enjoying the match and driving home. I assume someone else will fill Cardiff's pockets!

The Cardiff Central Premier Inn has discounted parking in the NCP car park across the road, although it gets quite full. Which NCP have you booked?

There are several park and rides round the town. You won't need the car save to get out of town so it would be no chore.

Another option which I've gone down as a last option was park in Newport then the quick train into Cardiff. - we stayed in Newport Holiday inn or similar too next to the station.

You could do the same on the train going up to the Valleys

Not ideal but it's very very late in the day now so you might have to opt for this.

Hotels have been booked month,s and month,s ago. We got an apartment for 3 nights 10 mins from town centre. Hopefully parking out side on the road!
We are going to see Ireland v Canada then Wales v ? The next day!
The whole weekend will cost more than my trip to New Zealand for the 2011 World Cup.

I just knew a UK World Cup would be a rip off.

I'm interested to see a comparison of the two World cups.

Ticket prices, accommodation etc.

Can you oblige?

Thanks

When Ian's which direction is the last train?
You may find it cheaper to stay say in Swansea /Newport/Bristol.

Unless your young when I was there for the 99 World Cup it was crazy 7am finishing utter carnage -- similar on 6Nations but when I say carnage utterly friendly superb guess that's the beauty of Rugby. Big drinkers who can handle drink and enjoy banter with opposite fans

In 2011 we were on a two month trip to enjoy the World Cup and see as much of New Zealand as possible.

I had booked a small Toyota Hiace camper van in 2009 for the whole two months. The campervan company had no idea at that time about the forth coming World Cup.

I paid about 1,000 pounds all in for the camper. Campsites were 25 dollars or so per night.

Pre booked tickets were about 40 dollars for pool games and we paid 15 dollars for lesser pool games at the gate or registered selling shops.

Free coaches were laid on in most towns to get fans to stadiums that were to far a walk.

It was fantastic to be around all the different nation fans and every weekend was mental at the games. I follow Ireland so you can imagine the mess of a weekend.

We covered over 8,000 kilometers in the two months. Biggest outlay was the camping sites, diesel, and beer. Wine is a rip off price there same as Australia.

The fact that September and October is cold in the UK makes camping uncomfortable.therefore hotels have to booked which of course are more expensive.

2007 World Cup in France was also great. The weather was fantastic and Ireland were playing two games in Bordeaux, just down the road for me!

That sounds great.

I'm not a Rugby fan but my mum lives in Twickenham and tickets were available.

Unfortunately they were too pricey for a casual observer, next stop was a game in MiltonKeynes ( I live in Bedford) again the cheapest ticket was if I recall £60 plus booking fee for teams I had no interest in.

To my mind, again that's excessive so I didn't bother.

The down under prices are much more yo my liking.

Twickenham is also a no go zone on match days now and family visits are on hold, not happy about that at all.
